Privacy Policy / Statement Concerning Data Protection

Cassiber allows its customers to give specific users access to a customer platform established on the Cassiber server platform to an extent contractually stipulated between Cassiber and the customer, to create an individual personal profile and view information (in the form of data, suggestions, notices, and the like), and to enter such information in the customer platform on his own.

The personal data of users is in good hands at Cassiber, and we require only personal data that are indispensable to the use of our services or that are specifically required by the customer. Otherwise, we leave the type and amount of the personal data stored in our database up to the user to decide.

We guarantee that all personal data entrusted to us will be treated confidentially, and we affirm that we collect such data with the greatest care, treat them as strictly confidential, and handle them appropriately. In so doing, we act in compliance with the applicable laws and the following principles.

The user acknowledges and agrees that if need be, a separate data protection statement by the respective customer of Cassiber applies to the customer platform available to him. The user is obligated to check the customer platform for a corresponding data protection statement. The data protection statement applicable to the customer platform takes precedence over the Cassiber data protection statement. The user acknowledges and agrees that the customer is exclusively responsible for compliance with the data protection statement applicable to the customer platform, and Cassiber denies all liability in connection with use of the data by the customer.

Upon entering their personal data on Cassiber or in a customer platform hosted on Cassiber, users declare their express consent to the processing thereof in conformity with these principles.

I. DATA COLLECTION AND STORAGE

  1. Data input by users

    When a profile is registered on Cassiber, we record the following personal data:

    -    name;
    -    email address;

    Unless the customer stipulates otherwise for his customer platform, a fictitious name and an anonymous email address (e.g., web mail) can be used for registration.
    Users also have the option of entering other information in their profile, such as address or phone number.
    When registering, users are moreover prompted to enter a user name of their choosing and a password of their choosing. This information is likewise stored in the respective user’s profile.
  2. Data automatically collected by Cassiber

    When our website is accessed, general access data are stored in a log file for statistical purposes. This relates in particular to:

    - IP address
    - date and time of access
    - name of the file called up
    - access status (OK, partial content, document not found, etc.)
    - page from which the access originated
    - top-level domain (*.ch, *.fr, *.com, etc.)
    - web browser used
    - operating system used

    Moreover, Cassiber can use cookies to collect and store other access data for the purpose of documenting and evaluating the use of our website. Cookies are small data packages that the browser stores on the respective user’s hard drive at the prompting of a web server. They contain data with which the server recognizes the user upon his next visit and can call up and restore personalized settings. Cookies also enable automatic login if the user has activated that function when registering. By changing their browser settings, users can at any time prevent the acceptance of all cookies or force a warning to be displayed before accepting a cookie, thereby deciding on their own whether to accept it. However, deactivating cookies can affect the use of Cassiber’s services, and it is possible that in that case individual offerings will be available not at all or only to a limited extent.

II. USE OF THE DATA

  1. User profile

    The user name stored in the user profile can be seen by all users registered on the same customer platform. The other data in the user profile are not displayed.
  2. Email addresses

    Cassiber needs the email address that each user provides when registering in order to communicate with the user.

    Cassiber reserves the right to use the email address to send out newsletters, current information on its services, or information from possible advertisers, for example. Users who do not wish to receive such communication can indicate that in the “Settings" file of the user profile and also change those settings back at any time.

    Otherwise Cassiber does not provide user’s contact information to third parties without their permission.
  3. Analysis and use of automatically collected data

    In order to display information to the customer with greater selectivity, Cassiber can use the automatically collected data (see Section I.2) and the data entered by the user to perform statistical analyses concerning the behavior of the respective user. The purpose of this analysis is to achieve greater networking of information on the respective customer platform and allow for the cross-sector display of information, and to display the activities of all users for the purpose of documenting the flow of information and optimizing the customer platform.
  4. Anonymous analysis and use of data

    Moreover, Cassiber is constantly endeavoring to optimize its services and adapt them to the needs of its users. To that end, Cassiber can analyze the data input by the users and the automatically collected access data (see Section I.2). All analysis of data in this regard is performed anonymously.

    Cassiber also reserves the right to have neutral advertising research firms perform additional, external measurements and authentication of website accesses. The authenticated access data generated in this way are used by Cassiber to identify the scope of marketing and sales measures for the purpose of gaining advertisers. However, such a net audit should not involve any personal analysis of data.

III. DATA SECURITY

  1. Unless expressly stipulated otherwise in this data protection statement for individual services or customer platforms, all data entrusted to us are stored in the Cassiber database. Cassiber applies technological and organizational security measures to protect the stored data against manipulation, loss, destruction, or access by unauthorized persons. All personal data entrusted to us are treated as strictly confidential and are not passed on to third parties. In the interest of data security, your password is stored in encoded form.
